Similar to the Velveteen Rabbit, Rachel Rosenberg in Blade Runner (1982) sees herself as real, as an actual human being, but her perception clashes with that of humans. They view her as a man-made tool, an android, and deny her humanness, despite her ability to feel emotions just like them.  

Therefore, again, self-perception alone is not enough for a being to achieve "realness."
